The pillars are made of Japanese cedar grown in Kanagawa Prefecture, and the design is inspired by the rows of cedar trees along the Old Hakone Highway. We use prefectural lumber throughout the building and support the Kanagawa Prefecture Tree-Use Campaign. We welcome you with the flower vase on display in the center, which is made from clay sourced from Hakone Kowakien Hotel and crafted by a Shigaraki-ware potter.
Front

- The entire hotel is cashless. In addition to self check-in/out, we also promote other forms of digital transformation, including the ability to make advance payment from your guest room. The front counter is made of cypress grown in Kanagawa Prefecture. Behind the front desk, we reuse blocks from the former hotel.

Chairs are available on the terrace for relaxing while enjoying the view of the garden.

- You can use this space, located on the 3rd floor overlooking the garden, as a working space complete with USB ports and outlets or as a community area to interact with other guests.

- Children can use the digital blackboard to share their hopes and dreams for the future and the various other thoughts in their young minds.Giving shape to the ideas of children, who are our future, can lead to new discoveries and opportunities for a brighter future for the children themselves as well as for adults.
Garden

- This 16,000m²historic Japanese garden was created in 1914 (as a villa garden for the former Mitsui Zaibatsu).
You can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the garden.You can also read descriptions of the plants and trees by scanning the 2D barcodes on the ‘tree boards’ located along the walking paths throughout the garden. Also, be sure to view the field map by scanning the 2D code provided below with your smartphone.
Bar1959

- Named after the founding year of the former Hakone Kowakien Hotel. The counter top design depicts Lake Ashi and Mt. Fuji in a wooden mosaic style.
Eco Smart
- This fireplace is fueled by bioethanol. The beautiful flame makes the space feel more comfortable.
Sanatio Spa

(Last reception 11:00 p.m.) - You can spend some time rejuvenating yourself with massages that make use of SPA CEYLON, a traditional purification oil passed down in India for more than 5,000 years, and facial courses using the HARNN lineup of products, a natural skin care brand available at luxury resorts, as well as muscle massages.

- You can relax and enjoy yourself in this 23-meter-long spacious pool, which is only accessible to hotel guests. Poolside, there is a ‘fountain splashing pond’ where children can play in the water. Beverages and food can be purchased right next door at the FamilyMart Hakone-Kowakien store. (There is a dedicated pathway located poolside.)
